Building with Bamboo, a sustainable practice

This project highlights  sustainability, emotion, and spatial experience through a structure made almost entirely from donated or repurposed materials, with bamboo as the primary material . The design includes three main spaces: a hallway, a presentation room, and an observation dome. The hallway shows an  entrance and a curving shape, leading into a gallery-like presentation room showcasing work from my time at Antioch: sculpture, clothing, prints, and models .Bamboo furniture may be present to emphasize functionality and material versatility.

Sustainability is at the head of this design , with recycled glass bottles and reused textiles, including a cushion I hope to make with old  chef coats. The observation room, inspired by the artist James Turrell, focuses on light, atmosphere, and reflection. Its circular, eye-like dome includes a large glass pane sky window . All doors will have a pull away curtain door .

Throughout the space you will see natural forms,  material interaction, and purposeful lighting  to give a calm, immersive experience. The project also includes a slide show honoring volunteers who supported its development to show on the TV I will bring . This installation blends artistic expression, environmental consideration, and architectural experimentation, creating a personal and shared environment for reflection, engagement, and appreciation of sustainable materials.

I’m proud of its evolution and excited to bring this vision to life
